The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to be issued to respondents No.1 to 3 to ensure that the petitioner's right to life and personal liberty is not violated.

It is the case of the petitioner that he as well as other members of his family are being repeatedly summoned to the police station by respondent No.4 - Inspector, Counter Intelligence, Punjab Police, SSP Office, Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur in connection with alleged involvement of his relative namely Rakesh Kumar in some criminal case though the petitioner does not have any knowledge about the alleged involvement of his relative. 3.

On asking of the Court, Mr. R.S. Khaira, DAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Having heard learned counel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioner or any other member of his family is required to be associated with the investigation of any case in the capacity of witnesses, then provisions of Section 160 Cr.P.C. shall be duly complied with.
