Learned counsel for the petitioner was specifically asked as to what was the final result of the appeal which was pending before the Excise and Taxation Officer since this Court had stayed the recovery proceedings in the interregnum period.

Learned counsel submits that he has no instructions and despite his best efforts he has not been able to contact his clients and the writ petition is of the year 1999 and prays for an adjournment. We are not persuaded by his request. Since the client has not contacted his counsel, the only option is to dismiss this writ petition for non-prosecution.
