The petitioner has filed this petition seeking grant of regular bail in a case registered against him vide FIR No.752 dated 10.10.2019 under Section 379-A IPC at Police Station Civil Lines, District Karnal wherein the allegations are to the effect that two boys had snatched a purse containing `7,000/- of the complainant.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he is not named in the FIR and has been nominated as an accused on the premises that he happens to be relative of the registered owner of the motorcycle in question alleged to be used in the occurrence. Learned counsel has further submitted that the petitioner is young man aged about 26 years and is not involved in other case.

Opposing the petition, learned State counsel has submitted that since recovery of an amount of `4,500/- has been effected from the petitioner, his complicity in the occurrence is evident, and as such, the petitioner does not deserve the concession of regular bail. It is however informed that the petitioner has been behind bars since last about 4 months and that he is not involved in any other case.

Having considered rival submissions addressed before this Court and bearing in mind that the petitioner has been behind bars since last about 4 months and 'Challan' has already been presented, further detention of the petitioner will not serve any fruitful purpose as conclusion of trial, in onclusion of trial, in its its normal course, is likely to take some time normal course, is likely to take some time.
