**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant six months maternity leave to the petitioner, as per the Haryana Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 2016.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner has given birth to a third child, yet the fact remains that as per the amended Rules, 2016, the maternity leave can also be granted at the time of birth of the third child as well and that the petitioner has not availed maternity leave earlier.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner has moved a representation dated 10.01.2023 (Annexure P-2) for redressal of her grievance, but to no avail. He confines his prayer that the respondents be directed to decide the aforesaid representation, within a stipulated time period.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. Without going into the merits of the case, respondent No.2Director, Higher Education Haryana, is hereby directed to decide the representation dated 10.01.2023 moved by the petitioner, within a period of four weeks, from the date of the receipt of the certified copy of this order, as per law.

Disposed of in the above terms.
