1. The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to respondent No.2 to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5.
2. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner is running a finance company and had financed a truck purchased by respondents No.4 and 5 and that the said respondents had however, defaulted in payment of installments and the cheques issued by them had been dishonoured leading to filing of a complaint against them by the petitioner. It is submitted that the aforesaid respondents were now threatening the petitioner to effect a compromise failing which the petitioner would be caused harm. It has been submitted that although the petitioner submitted an application dated 15.01.2024 (Annexure P-4) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala but to no avail.
3. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the MOHAN SINGH 2024.02.12 03:55 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment
CRWP-1299-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2024:PHHC:019118 instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to get application dated 15.01.2024 (Annexure P-4) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest.
4. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 15.01.2024 (Annexure P-4) be sent to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala for necessary compliance.
