The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing the respondents No. 2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents No. 4 to 8. 2.

There is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. Same was the position on the last date of hearing also. 3.

Although, the petitioner No. 2 is a minor girl, however, it apparently seems that that the petitioners are no more interested in pursuing the present case.

Accordingly, the present petition stands dismissed for nonprosecution, however, the State is directed to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
