Petitioner has filed the instant Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing respondents No.1 to 4 to amalgamate and merge the Gram Panchayat of Village Jhiri Nangal with the Village Bhorsi Rajputana as per the notification dated 15.12.2023 (Annexure P-1), passed by respondents No.1 to 4.

At this stage, learned State counsel-Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, appears and accepts the notice on behalf of the respondents.

Learned State counsel has submitted that the competent authority would be respondent No.4-Block Development and Panchayat Officer, District Amritsar. 5.

Considering the same, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation before respondent No.4. The respondent No.4- Block Development and Panchayat Officer, District Amritsar shall consider the representation made by the petitioner and pass an appropriate order in accordance with the law within a period of four weeks from the date of filing of such representation.

In view of the aforesaid observation, the present petition stands disposed of.
