The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, who are against the 'livein' relationship of the petitioner. 2.

It is averred in the petition that petitioner No.1 was earlier married to one Krishan Singh in the year 2015 and she was also blessed with a child but on account of temperamental differences between her and her husband, they decided to part ways and also effected a 'panchayati' compromise. It is averred that pursuant to the said 'panchayati' compromise, said Krishan Singh solemnized second marriage with another lady. 3.

It has been submitted that pursuant to the aforesaid 'panchayati' divorce, petitioner No.1 came in contact with petitioner No.2-Sukhchain Kamboj and PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.02.19 18:18 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-1695-2021 (O&M) they decided to live together but the said 'live-in' relationship of the petitioners is not acceptable to private respondents No.4 to 6. It has been submitted that while respondents No.4 to 6 are relatives of petitioner No.2, respondent No.7 is father of petitioner No.1. 4.

Without commenting as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition and also as regards the sanctity of alleged relationship of the petitioners, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 17.2.2021 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 17.2.2021 (Annexure P-3) be sent to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. 6.

It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be taken to be any expression as regards the alleged relationship of the petitioners and shall not confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
