By virtue of the present petition under Section 482 BNSS, petitioner, an accused in case bearing FIR No.104 dated 29.09.2025 registered under Sections 118(1) and 3(5) BNS (Section 118(2) BNS added later on) at Police Station GRP Bathinda, District Bathinda, has prayed for grant of pre-arrest bail.

Status report dated 01.04.2026 by way of affidavit of Mr. Jaskaran Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, GRP, Zonel Ferozepur has been placed on record. In para 11 thereof, the factum of petitioner having joined the investigation has been mentioned. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Sukhpal Singh, submits that petitioner is not needed for further investigation.

On 03.02.2026, following order was passed by this Court:- "Learned counsel submits that the injury attributed to the petitioner of having caught hold left arm of the complainant as was attributed to co-accused Bikram Singh @ Vishal Kumar, who has been granted anticipatory bail vide order dated 20.01.2026, Annexure P5 and one co-accused Ajay and the MLR also depose three injuries. He is not involved in any other case. He is ready and willing to join the investigation as and when required by the investigating agency and will cooperate. Notice of motion.

CRM-M-6043-2026 At the asking of the Court, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Meanwhile, the petitioner is directed to join the investigation on or before 13.02.2026. In the event of his arrest, he shall be released on interim bail to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer, subject to compliance of conditions as enshrined under Section 482(2) BNSS.

However, it is clarified that if the petitioner does not join and cooperate with the Investigating Agency as required by the Arresting/Investigating Officer, this interim order shall be deemed to have been vacated.

Keeping in view the fact that petitioner has joined the investigation, interim bail granted vide order dated 03.02.2026 is hereby confirmed, subject to conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) BNSS. Further the petitioner is directed to join investigation as and when required in future by way of written notice for such purpose to be served by Investigating Officer of this case upon the petitioner; he will neither tamper with the evidence nor will influence the witnesses and nor will leave the country without prior permission of the Court. 5.

The petition stands allowed.
