Admittedly, petitioner was serving in the Home Guard department. He was dismissed from service in the year 1983 on the ground that he remained absent for three days. Present petition has been filed on the ground that certain other employees who were dismissed on similar grounds have been given appointment. Petition suffers from serious delay and laches. Besides, petitioner is not entitled to invoke negative equality. In normal circumstances, such a petition would entail heavy costs. However, this court is refraining from doing so. Dismissed.
