**** RITU BAHRI , J. (Oral) Petitioner is seeking issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus to respondent No. 2 to grant necessary approval. Pursuant to advertisement dated 09.12.2017, the petitioner participated for the post of Assistant Professor (Botany) and his interview was conducted on 25.05.2018 by duly constituted selection committee. The petitioner has been selected at No. 1 in order of merit. The recommendations of the Selection Committee have been duly approved by Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, vide letter dated 12.06.2018. As per information received by the petitioner under RTI on 09.10.2018, the University has granted the approval on 12.06.2018 and the College has also sent the case for approval to the Director, Higher Education, Haryana but more than six months have passed, no decision has been taken till date.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case and keeping in view the above facts, this petition is being disposed of by giving a direction to respondents to take a final decision on the proceedings of the selection Committee, as per information given in Annexure P-2 in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
