(Oral) The present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India has been preferred by the petitioners seeking direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 7.

It is, inter alia, contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that apprehending danger to their life and liberty, the petitioners have moved a representation dated 23.01.2024 (Annexure P-1) to respondent No.2, but till date no action thereon has been taken. He submits that for the purpose of this petition, the petitioners will be satisfied if directions are given to respondent No.2 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 23.01.2024 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law in an expeditious manner. 3.

Notice of motion to official respondents only. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sarabjit Singh Cheema, DAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State and submits that the representation (Annexure P-1) will be dealt with in accordance with law in an expeditious manner.
