(ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari to quash order dated 26.02.1998 (Annexure P-4), whereby services of the petitioner as Part-time Water Carrier were terminated and further seeking directions to respondents to regularize services of the petitioner on Group 'D' post in accordance with the instructions dated 01.02.1999 (Annexure P-3) issued by the State Government.

Petition was filed in the year 1999 and has been lying admitted since 18.03.2002. When called out for hearing, learned counsel is unable to assist the Court for lack of instructions. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner states that despite attempts, his office could not contact the petitioner. 3.

It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 22 years before this Court, it has been rendered infructuous and/or the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same. 4.

Be that as it may, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case any cause of action still survives.
