This is the second petition for grant of bail, pending trial, in a criminal case arising from FIR No.176, dated 13.12.2018, registered under Section 15 of the NDPS Act, 1985, at Police Station Jaitu, Faridkot, District Faridkot.

As per the case of the prosecution, two separate recoveries of 80 kg. and 182 kg. poppy husk were made from the truck and tractor trolley respectively. The petitioner was allegedly driving the tractor trolley. Learned counsel representing the petitioner has very fairly stated that out of 17 prosecution witnesses proposed to be examined, deposition of 7 prosecution witnesses have already been recorded. However, he contends that the due to restricted functioning of the Court on account of outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, the trial has come to a standstill.
