SUMEET GOEL, J.(Oral) On 04.02.2026, the following order was passed: "Prayer in the present petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in a case FIR No.135 dated 06.12.2025, registered under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 3(5) of BNS, 2023 (Sections 118(2) BNS added vide Rapat/DDR No.17 dated 07.12.2025), at Police Station Bariwala, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner and the injured-complainant both are brothers. It is submitted that de hors the allegation made in the FIR, the petitioner is ready to settle the dispute amicably, if the matter is referred to the Mediation Centre. He also undertakes to implead the complainant as party in the present petition.

On 17.02.2026, the following order was passed: "Mr. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of the complainant and filed power of attorney, which is taken on record.
It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the dispute was between the brothers and now both have amicably resolved their outstanding issues. Learned counsel for the complainant has affirmed the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner. In view of the above, interim order dated 04.02.2026 is modified to the extent that in the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on interim bail subject to the satisfaction of the Arresting/Investigating Officer. The petitioner shall join investigation before the Investigating Agency/Officer. He shall abide by the following conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) of Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023:- (i) That the petitioner shall make himself available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required.
(ii) That the petitioner shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Sukhdev Singh, submits that pursuant to the order dated 17.02.2026, the petitioner has joined investigation and is no longer required for custodial interrogation.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to confirm the order dated 17.02.2026. Accordingly, the instant petition is allowed. The interim order dated 17.02.2026, passed by this Court is made absolute, subject to the conditions as enumerated under Section 482(2) of BNSS. 5.
This order should not be treated as "blanket" order. It will not be read granting petitioner indefinite protection from arrest. It shall be confined to the FIR mentioned ibid and will not operate in respect of any other incident that involves commission of an offence. 6.
Liberty is reserved in favour of State/complainant to move for cancellation/recall of this order in case the petitioner violates any condition stipulated under Section 482(2) of BNSS or upon showing any other sufficient cause.
