(ORAL) This case pertains to the year 2000 and admitted in 2001 without any stay whereas relief sought in the writ petition is for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the name of the petitioner for allotment of new ratio depot at Rajpura, District Patiala, owing to the fact that the respondents have allotted new ration depot to respondent Nos.5 to 16 on the basis of some influence and for quashing of the allotment of new ratio depots. A period of about 18 years has elapsed, in essence, much time has flown. The rates of goods sold in the ratio depot are little less than the goods sold in open market, thus, the petitioner cannot be said to be aggrieved. He must have done something better for earning his livelihood and reconcile with the situation.

For the reasons aforementioned, no cause of action survives for consideration in the writ petition. The writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.
