***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.3 - SHO, Police Station Ghagga, District Patiala to ensure that in case the petitioner is required to be associated with any inquiry in the capacity of a witness, then provisions of Section 160 Cr.P.C. be duly complied with.

However, it is clarified that in case the petitioner is sought to be arrested in connection with commission of some cognizable offence, the aforesaid directions shall not be construed as any kind of protection against arrest.
