Petitioner Makhan Ram, aged about 28 years, son of Jagir Ram, resident of Village Cheema, Tehsil Panjila, District Barnala has filed the instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C against respondents State of Punjab through its Principal Home Secretary, Punjab, Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala, S.H.O. P.S. Sadar Barnala, District Barnala and Gurmeet Kaur wife of Jagtar Singh craving for issuance of direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala to decide his representation dated 11.12.2020 (Annexure P1) within fixed time frame. Interalia, the petitioner has contended that he was married with private respondent No.

4 Gurmeet Kaur in the year 2008 and they were blessed with three children; now Gurmeet Kaur without getting his marriage with petitioner dissolved has performed marriage with Jagtar Ram son of Girb @ Girbu Ram in connivance with her parents and mediator; that the petitioner has submitted representation dated 11.12.2020 to Senior PARVINDER SINGH 2021.03.

CRM-M-9677 of 2021 Superintendent of Police, Barnala seeking registration of criminal case against Gurmeet Kaur and other culprits but no action has been taken on such representation of petitioner, therefore, he has brought the present petition.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 3.

Mr. J.S. Ghuman, DAG, Punjab has accepted notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner would be satisfied if a direction be issued to Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala-respondent No. 2 to decide representation of petitioner Annexure P1 promptly. Learned State counsel submits that the official respondents would comply with any direction issued by this Court. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of directing Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala-respondent No. 2 to look into the grievances of the petitioner as contained in representation (Annexure P-1) and if he finds that some action in the matter is warranted then the needful be done in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a period of two months from today.
