Petition herein is, inter alia, seeking a writ in the nature of Certiorari for quashing the letter/order dated 29.10.2025 (Annexure P-4) issued/passed by the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh. 1.1 A further prayer has been made for directing the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, to renew the petitioner's passport. 2.

Learned counsel appearing for respondents No.1 and 2 submits that the application submitted by the petitioner for renewal of passport is presently pending consideration before the Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh, and that the Police Verification Report regarding the petitioner was initiated on 14.05.2026. It is further submitted that the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh/competent authority shall consider and pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law (as the circumstances may

warrant), on the petitioner's application for renewal of passport within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the said Police Verification Report.

Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for respondents No.1 and 2, no further orders are required to be passed in the present writ petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of. 4.

All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed.
