3.
On 05.02.2026, following order was passed by this Court: "The present petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short 'BNSS') by the petitioner, seeking grant of anticipatory bail in the case arising out of FIR No.0278, dated 15.12.2025, registered under Sections 333, 118(1), 118(2), 115(2), 351(2), 324(4), 191 and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (for short 'BNS'), at Police Station Sadar Faridkot, District Faridkot.
The aforesaid FIR was registered on the basis of statement recorded by the complainant-Lakha Singh, on 15.12.2025, alleging that on 14.12.2025, the petitioner along with co-accused had entered his house and assaulted him, causing injuries on his person. It has further been
alleged that all the assailants also damaged the windowpanes of his house with the help of a Kapa and baseball.
After registration of FIR, investigation proceedings have been initiated and are underway. Apprehending his arrest, the petitioner moved an application for grant of pre-arrest bail, which has been dismissed by the Court of learned Additional Sessions Judge, Faridkot, vide order dated 08.01.2026.
It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that he has been falsely implicated in the present case. No specific injury has been attributed to him. There is no medical opinion to suggest that the injuries allegedly sustained by the complainant are of a grievous nature. No specific role has been attributed to the petitioner. The petitioner is ready to join the investigation. His custodial interrogation is not required. No recovery is to be effected from him. It is, therefore, submitted that the petition deserves to be allowed. Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Mr. Roshandeep Singh, learned A.A.G. Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and seeks time to file reply.
Adjourned to 18.03.2026.
In the meantime, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Investigating/Arresting Officer to join investigation within 10 days as and when required. In the event of his arrest, the Investigating/Arresting Officer shall release the petitioner on interim bail on furnishing personal/surety bonds to his/her satisfaction. The petitioner shall also abide by the conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
It would, however, be open to the learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab to file a reply indicating the involvement of the petitioner and all aspects would be considered at the time of final adjudication of the matter "
6.
Keeping in view the above submissions advanced by learned counsel for the petitioner as also the fact that the petitioner has joined the investigation, interim bail granted vide order dated 05.02.2026 is hereby confirmed, subject to conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) BNSS. Further the petitioner is directed to join investigation as and when required in future by way of written
notice for such purpose to be served by Investigating Officer of this case upon the petitioner; he will not tamper with the evidence nor will influence the witnesses and will not leave the country without prior permission of the Court. 7.
The petition stands allowed.
