The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking setting aside of order dated 18.05.2001 passed by Inspector General of Police, Amritsar and direction to respondent to send them for Intermediate School Course. 2.
The petitioners were enrolled as Constables during 1973-74. They were admitted in C-II List in March' 1989 and promoted as Head Constable in 1989. They are claiming opportunity to participate in Intermediate School Course so that they may be further promoted. 3.
The petitioners joined service in 1973-74, thus, in all probabilities they have retired. It appears that with the efflux of time the petitioners have lost interest to pursue the present petition. 4.
