IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT

CHANDIGARH CWP No. 4016 of 2019 Date of decision : 29.04.2019 Gurbir Singh ....Petitioner V/s State of Punjab & ors.

....Respondents BEFORE : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJAN GUPTA

Present:

Mr. Dilpreet Singh Gandhi, Advocate for the petitioner. RAJAN GUPTA J.

Petitioner seeks appointment on compassionate grounds on the plea that his father who was working in Animal Husbandary, Ferozepur died in harness. It has been urged before the court that petitioner on attaining the age of majority is entitled to be considered for appointment on compassionate grounds. A legal notice was also served but no reply has been received.

Heard.

It appears that father of the petitioner was working as a Veterinary Officer in respondent no. 2-department and died on 06.09.1997. Widow of the employee was in government employment at that time. Under the prevalent policy, petitioner would not have been entitled to employment. In any case, no application was received at that time either from petitioner (son) or from his mother. As employment on compassionate grounds is only a concession and is granted to enable the family to tide over the immediate financial crises and resultant penury, no ground for considering the claim of AJAY KUMAR 2019.05.03 13:27 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CWP No. 4016 of 2019 the petitioner at this stage is made out. (see Full Bench judgment of this court in CWP No. 4303 of 2009 titled as Krishna Kumari vs. State of Haryana & ors. decided on April 20, 2012.) In view of above, petition is without any merit and is hereby dismissed.
