Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondent No.2 for protection of life and liberty of son of the petitioner who is in police custody and has been recently hit with a gun shot.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that FIRs No.96 and 98, dated 21.08.2024 and 29.08.2024 respectively have been registered against son of the petitioner and both are under investigation. He submits that investigation of the case is not being carried out as per the mandate of the Act and hence the petitioner has filed the representation, Annexure P-1, but no action has been taken on the same till date. 3.

It is an admitted fact that son of the petitioner is an accused in both the above-mentioned FIRs and for redressal of her grievances, she has already given representation, Annexure P-1, before respondent No.2. Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Batala, to look into the representation (Annexure P-1) of the petitioner and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law.
