Angrej Singh v. State Of Punjab And Others
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-6463-2020 Date of Decision: 28.09.2022 Angrej Singh ......... Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and others ......... Respondents
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANOOP CHITKARA Present:- Mr. Jagdeep S. Virk, Advocate for the petitioners. Mr. Jashandeep Singh, AAG, Punjab.
**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No. 48 dated 09.03.2015 under Sections 304-A, 279, 337, 427 IPC registered at Police Station Sadar, District Tarn Taran.
Learned State counsel has opposed the present petition on the grounds that a compromise under Section 304-A IPC when it relates to rash and negligent driving cannot be accepted.
Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since the matter has already been compromised with the aggrieved persons, as such, he be permitted to withdraw the present petition and the learned trial Court be directed to expedite the trial.
The prayer being innocuous, the same is allowed. Given above, the present petition is disposed of having been withdrawn and this Court requests the trial Court to complete the trial as early as possible preferably by the end of this year. It is clarified that the petitioner shall not seek any adjournment and the time for which the petitioner seeks adjournment, the time shall be extended in compliance of the trial.
