(ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner, after arguing at length, submits that the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2022 (Annexure P-5) is pending before the respondent-authorities which may be directed to be considered and decided by them expeditiously.
Ms. Deepali Puri, learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab submits that the petitioner's representation could not be decided on account of the fact that the Director, Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab was down with covid. She submits, on instructions, that the petitioner's representation shall be considered and decided by the respondentauthorities within a week and a decision thereon shall be communicated to it accordingly.
In view of the aforesaid statement made by learned State counsel, we do not find any reason to entertain the present writ petition which is accordingly disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and, therefore, the authorities would be at liberty to examine the matter keeping all facts and facets into consideration and thereafter accept or reject the same in accordance with law.
