The prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to pay to the petitioner the amount lying in his GPF alongwith interest.

Learned State counsel submits that the present petition has been rendered infructuous in view of the reply by way of short affidavit of Davinder Singh, Deputy Controller Finance and Accounts, the relevant para 3 thereof reads thus:- "3. That in this regard, it is respectfully submitted that vide order no. 166-10/28-2020 fund(4) T-2294 Dated 29.04.2021 a sanction of GPF amount 2,61,893 has been issued by the Department of Public Instruction (College) and payment of the same has been credited into the bank account of the petitioner through concerned District Treasury Office Jagraon vide voucher no.71 dated 19.05.2021."

Learned counsel for the petitioner is unable to controvert the aforesaid fact. However, prays for liberty to approach the department, in case any grievance still subsists.
