This is a Civil Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to the respondents to grant pay scale of 13500-17250/- w.e.f. 01.01.1996 to the petitioner as similarly situated officers of the Department, even those junior to the petitioner, have already been granted the said benefit.

Learned counsel for the petitioner relies upon the order dated 29.11.2019 passed by this Court in CWP No.34764 of 2019. He further contends that in this regard a legal notice dated 07.09.2019 (Annexure P-10) has already been sent to respondent No.1. However, no decision has been taken on the same till date. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.1 to take a decision on the said legal notice dated 07.09.2019 (Annexure P-10) in view of the directions issued by this Court in CWP No.34764 of 2019 decided on 29.11.2019 in a time-bound manner.

In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.1 to take a decision on the legal notice dated 07.09.2019 (Annexure P-10) keeping in mind the directions given by this Court in CWP No.34764 of 2019 decided on 29.11.2019, expeditiously and in any case within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Disposed off.
