(ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to take back the petitioner in service on post of Dental Mechanic till regular selected candidates are appointed. Further respondents be directed to pay his salary for the period he has worked at par with regular employees.

Petition was filed on 22.08.2001 and noticed on 24.08.2001 for regular hearing.

When called out for hearing, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 21 years before this Court, it has been rendered infructuous and/or the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same.

Be that as it may, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case, any cause of action still survives.
