$.& This is an application filed by the applicant under section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking appointment of an arbitrator on account of the fact that the respondent/authorities failed to appoint an arbitrator in terms of the relevant clause of the agreement between the parties.

The respondents have filed a return today which is being taken on record, according to which they have appointed Mr. M.S.Virdi, a retired District & Sessions Judge, as an arbitrator.

Learned counsel for the applicant, however, submits that as the period prescribed in law has lapsed, therefore, the Court may appoint an independent arbitrator. The respondents also agree to such submission. In the circumstances, on account of the agreement and with the consent of the parties, Shri Inderjit Singh, a retired District & Sessions Judge, Punjab, # House No. 93, Punjabi Bagh, Patiala, is appointed as an RAVINDER SHARMA 2019.10.19 15:06 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
