IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CWP-3496-2025 Date of Decision : February 07, 2025 RENU KALRA AND ANOTHER -PETITIONERS V/S PUNJAB STATE POWER CORPORATION LTD AND OTHERS -RESPONDENTS
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE KULDEEP TIWARI
Present:
Ms./Mrs. Monika Thakur, Advocate (Through V.C.) for the petitioners.
Mr. Ajaivir Singh, Advocate for Ms. Shazia K Singh, Advocate for the respondents No.1 and 2.
KULDEEP TIWARI, J. (ORAL) 1.
The instant writ petition has been instituted to assail the provisional orders of assessment (Annexure P-3). In view of the mandate enclosed in Section 126 of the Electricity Act, 2003, the petitioners are required to file objections against the impugned provisional orders of assessment, and thereupon, the authority concerned would pass the final order of assessment.
2.
In the instant case, the petitioners have, without taking the apposite statutory recourse (supra), straightaway filed the instant writ petition. Therefore, the instant writ petition is dismissed on account of its being a misconceived motion. However, the petitioners are at liberty to file their objections against the impugned provisional orders of assessment before the authority concerned.
