**** SABINA, J Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 for issuance of directions to respondent No.3 to hand over the investigation to Central Bureau of Investigation or some other independent agency. Learned State counsel has placed on record the latest status report. A perusal of the same reveals that a Special Investigation Team was constituted comprising of following officers:- I) Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar

II)Superintendent of Police, Detective, Amritsar (Rural).

III)Superintendent of Police, Detective, Pathankot.

IV)SHO PS Beas.

It has been further averred in the report that request regarding missing of the girl had been sent for publication in CIA Gazettee. Posters of the missing girl along with her photo had been affixed at various bus stands, railway stations and other public places in Punjab and neighbouring States. Information had also been received qua unidentified dead bodies of teenaged girls recovered w.e.f. 09.12.2012 onwards but nothing consequential had come to fore. Letters had also been written to Civil Surgeon, Amrtisar, Gurdaspur, Taran Taran, Batala, Pathankot to ascertain as to whether any patient named Arjoo had been admitted in their respective Hospitals but nothing consequential came to fore. Photographs of the girl was published in various vernacular and national newspapers. Posters of the girl as well as respondent No.5-Jyoti and Davinder Sharma have been sent to GRP & RPF in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi for procuring any lead. The information regarding missing of the girl had been put up on various internet sites. Look Out

[3] Circular of respondent No.5 and Davinder Sharma has also been issued. The Special Investigation Team has also written to the Regional Passport Officer, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar and Amritsar, to procure information as to whether any passport had been issued in favour of Jyoti (respondent No.5) and Davinder Sharma but the said offices had intimated that no passport had been issued in the name of Jyoti and Davinder Sharma. Information was also sought as to whether any Aadhar Card, PAN Card and ATM Card was issued in favour of Jyoti and Davinder Sharma. Station House Officer, Police Station Beas also raided the parental house of Jyoti and Davinder Sharma but no clues were available to them and they were declared proclaimed offenders.

It has been further submitted that in the report that Special Investigation Team has made best efforts to trace the missing girl as well as arrest the accused Jyoti and Davinder Sharma. Since, the investigation team is making best efforts to trace the girl as well as arrest the accused, no ground for further interference by this Court at this stage is made out. Petition stands disposed of, accordingly.
