The instant writ petition encompasses a prayer for issuance of directions upon the respondent No.1 to release the compensation, as computed and recommended by the respondent No.2 according to the directions issued by the respondent No.1, to the petitioner. 2.

The instant writ petition was filed way back in the year 1999 and it was admitted vide order dated 04.10.1999. 3.

Today, in deference to the directions issued by this Court on 03.10.2024, the learned State counsel has filed reply dated 10.01.2025, on affidavit of Himanshu Jain, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar, which is taken on record.

What emerges from a perusal of the reply is that, compensation was duly assessed and disbursed to 49 affected persons, including the petitioner. The relevant paragraphs of the reply are DEVINDER YADAV 2025.01.18 09:27 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-14067-1999 reproduced hereunder:- "5. That in compliance of aforesaid instructions the survey was conducted by the revenue Department after the encounter the assess the damage cause to the standing crop of sugarcane on encounter site. The assessment list was prepared and was sent to the SSP Rupnagar to disburse the compensation to the effected persons in this list. The name of the petitioners was also included.

6. That as per the report submitted by the Dy. Supdt. Police Rupnagar vide memo no.2413/DSP/H dated 11.07.2011 (Annexure R-II). The compensation to the 49 effected persons including the petitioners had already been disbursed." 5.

In view of the above, no further direction is required to be passed. Therefore, the instant petition is closed. 6.

Disposed of accordingly.
