These cases involve similar issues and therefore, are being disposed of together by this common order and for the sake of brevity, the facts are being taken from CWP-14194-1999.

Prayer made in the present petition for directing the respondents to grant the revised pay scales on revision of pay scales w.e.f. 01.01.1996. 3.
Learned counsel submits that the petitioners have been working as work charged employees since 1983 in the construction cell of Transport Department, which though were disbanded w.e.f. 31.07.1995 and adjusted in various other depots of Punjab Roadways, details whereof have been given in Annexure P-1 and the appointment letter of one of the petitioner is appended as Annexure P-2. Thereafter, during pendency of the petition, petitioner Nos.14 and 17 have been granted the relief, having filed a Civil Suit seeking equal pay for equal work, which was decreed on 22.10.2009 by restricting the arrears to 3 years and 2 months, which was upheld by learned Additional and Sessions Judge, Chandigarh vide judgment dated 13.01.2013 and the same stood implemented, the fact mentioned in para 4 of the MOHIT 2025.08.01 10:12 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-14194-1999 (O&M) and connected cases -2additional affidavit dated 07.12.2024 filed by petitioner No.1. Reliance is placed on the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in Satbir Singh and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others, 2002 (2) SCT 354, as per which the benefit granted to similarly situated employees, requires to be extended to others as well, which was followed by issuance of instructions dated 15.07.2002 as also the judgments in the case of Jinder Singh and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others, 2019 (1) SCT 776 and Malkiat Singh vs. State of Punjab and Another, CWP-5133-2023, decided on 27.01.2025 by relying on State of Punjab and Others vs. Mukhtiar Singh, LPA-189-2004, decided on 19.04.2011.

The aforesaid facts having been brought out, during the course of hearing, learned State counsel, on instructions, states that the respondents would not be averse to having a relook at the matter and decided afresh within a period of 6 months, taking note of the afore-referred judgments, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. 5.
The aforesaid satisfies the learned counsel for the petitioners. 6.
The matter stands disposed of accordingly and if the petitioners are found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same may be passed after granting opportunity of hearing to them and shall contain reasons, whereupon they shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
