Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to grant selection grade to the petitioners as they fall in 35% and 15% of the total strength of posts available in District Ludhiana as per the seniority list. 2.

Learned State counsel refers to preliminary objections of the written statement dated 13.06.2001 filed on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3, wherein it has been stated that after 01.04.1965, the seniority has been maintained at District Level and on the basis of total strength of post in District Ludhiana, selection grade has already been granted to the petitioners. Further, in para 5 on merits, it has been stated that District Fatehgarh Sahib came into existence in the year 1994/1995 and thus no comparison can be drawn by the petitioners with the District that was non-existent in the year, 1962. 3.

Disposed of, reserving the petitioners with a liberty to get it revived, in case need arises.
