(ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari quashing the seniority list (Annexure P-4) whereby private respondents were declared senior to the petitioners and seeking directions to the official respondents to fix seniority of the private respondents from the date they were appointed as Division Pump Clerk.

Petition was filed in the year 1999 and has been lying admitted since 22.08.2002. When called out for hearing, learned counsel is unable to assist the Court for lack of instructions. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners states that despite attempts, his office could not contact the petitioners. 3.

It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 22 years before this Court, it has been rendered infructuous and/or the petitioners seem to have lost interest in pursuing the same. 4.

Be that as it may, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to file an appropriate application in case any cause of action still survives.
