**** GURBIR SINGH , J. (ORAL) On 14.02.2023, the folowing order was passed. "The prayer in this petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus directing the respondents to release the detenue, namely, Sunil Kumar @ Bachi, son of Dalvir Singh, who has been illegally picked up on 14.02.2023 at about 08.30 a.m. by respondents No.3 and 4 without any complaint or FIR. Notice of motion for 02.03.2023.

In the meantime, the Registry of this Court is directed to appoint a Warrant Officer on usual charges to be paid by the petitioner, who will visit the places of hide out/detention of the alleged detenue and if found in illegal detention then to get him released immediately after recording his statement. Warrant officer shall submit his detailed report in this regard on or before the date fixed by this Court".

Report dated 17.02.2023 from Warrant Officer has been received in the sealed cover. The same is opened and perused in the Court. At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition as the detenue-Sunil Kumar has been released. Dismissed as withdrawn, at this stage.
