IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT

CHANDIGARH CRM-M-8620-2023 (O&M) Date of Decision: 06.07.2023 VIKAS KUMAR @ SHERU ... Petitioner

Versus

STATE OF PUNJAB ... Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARNARESH SINGH GILL

Present:

Mr. Ashok Kumar Khunger, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Sidhu, AAG, Punjab.

**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.96 dated 26.10.2021, registered under Sections 379-B and 34 IPC and Section 411 IPC (added later on) at police Station sadar Abohar, District Fazilka.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the FIR was registered way back on 26.10.2021, yet the fact remains that out of total 16 prosecution witnesses, only two have been examined so far. He confines his argument to the extent that the learned trial Court be directed to conclude the trial in a time bound manner.

Learned State counsel has no objection if the aforesaid limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner is allowed. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the trial Court concerned to expedite the trial and conclude the same, at the earliest.
