(ORAL) The only prayer made by the petitioner is for a direction to the first appellate authority i.e. respondent No. 2 to decide his first appeal dated 18.02.2022 (Annexure P-4) which is pending before him. Mr. Avinit Avasthi, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab submits that the petitioner's first appeal shall be decided by the first appellate authority within a period of two-three weeks. In view of the aforesaid statement made by learned State counsel, we do not find any reason to entertain the present writ petition which is accordingly disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and, therefore, the authorities would be at liberty to examine the matter in accordance with law.
