(Oral) The prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents-authority to decide the case of the petitioner for premature release by deciding the application dated 01.02.2022 (Annexure P-3).

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, if his application dated 01.02.2022 (Annexure P-3) is looked into by the concerned authority and a decision thereon is taken expeditiously.

In this view of the matter, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authority to look into the application (Anexure P-3) of the petitioner and take a decision thereon within a period of six weeks from today in accordance with law.
