Learned State counsel refers to para Nos.8, 9, 10, 11 of the status report dated 19.02.2026 filed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Nabha, District Patiala, which read thus:

"8. That it is further submitted that during inquiry and investigation, it has emerged that the incident dated 25.01.2026 was not a one-sided affair as projected by the petitioner. Based on the statement of Jasveer Kaur wife of Darshan Singh son of Babu Singh, resident of Village Aloona and the spot inquiry conducted by ASI Kuldeep Singh, a cross case has been registered against the petitioner Munish Kumar along with Sukhdev Kumar, Tarlochan Singh, Kala and Deepa, residents of Village Aloona under Sections 115(2), 126(2), 351(2), 190 and 191(3) BNS at Police Station Sadar Rajpura, as recorded in GD No. 023 dated 04.02.2026 at 18:31 hours.

9. That the petitioner has suppressed the material fact of the cross case registered against him from this Hon'ble Court and has presented a one-sided version of the incident, projecting himself as an innocent victim whereas the investigation reveals the petitioner and his associates were equally involved in the said incident.

10. That it is respectfully submitted that the representation dated 20.01.2026 submitted by the petitioner was duly attended to by the police authorities. The police initiated inquiry proceedings which culminated in registration of FIR and cross case. The allegation of police inaction on MOHIT 2026.03.11 18:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

11. That in view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the present petition does not merit consideration. The police has taken prompt and due action by registering FIR No. 09 dated 04.02.2026 and cross case. The investigation is in progress in accordance with law. The underlying dispute is a civil property matter pending adjudication before the civil court. The present petition may kindly be disposed of."
