Parminder Singh v. State Of Punjab
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CRM M-10037 of 2018 Date of decision : 23.04.2018 Parminder Siungh ....Petitioner V/s State of Punjab ....Respondent BEFORE : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJAN GUPTA
Present:
Mr. Keshav Pratap Singh, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Sidakmeet Sandhu, AAG Punjab.
RAJAN GUPTA J.
This is a petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. seeking regular bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 181 dated 10.12.2017 under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC at Police Station Balachaur, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Petitioner is incarcerated since 20.12.2017. Admittedly investigation has been completed and challan presented before the competent court. Proceedings may take long time to conclude. Thus, petitioner deserves to be enlarged on bail. Keeping in view the contentions made before this court and the period of incarceration, I am of the considered view that no useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner any longer. Accordingly, petition is allowed and petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail to the satisfaction of Trial court/Duty Magistrate subject to such terms and condition(s) as it may deem fit to impose.
