The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

This writ petition is filed seeking directions to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner as there is threat perception from respondents No.3 and 4 of involving him in any false case. The allegation is that Rs. 10 lakhs are being demanded by the respondent No.4.

Learned State counsel has filed a reply through electronic medium, same is taken on record.

As per reply filed, FIR No. 55, dated 4th March, 2021 under Section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 was registered against the petitioner at Police Station Jandiala, Amritsar (Rural). It is pleaded that petitioner is not facing any threat of life and liberty and representation (Annexure P-3) annexed with the petition was never received by the police officials.
