**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No. 339 dated 24.10.2019 under Sections 15/25 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 registered at Police Station Sadar Mansa, District Mansa.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that recovery of 03 kgs of poppy husk has been effected from the petitioner and his co-accused and the same falls in non-commercial quantity and the petitioner has been in custody since 24.10.2019. He further submits three other cases are pending against the petitioner. No independent witness has been introduced by the prosecution agency and co-accused Suraj Singh has granted regular bail by this Court on 7.2.2020.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Bant Singh, submits that in the present case charges have been framed and the prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. GURPREET SINGH 2020.02.25 10:33 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh

CRM-M No. 7050 of 2020 -2The petitioner has been in custody since 24.10.2019. Coaccused Suraj has been granted regular bail by this Court. In the present case, charges have been framed and the prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. The trial will take time to conclude. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
