MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents. Learned counsel submits that subsequent to the registration of FIR No. 125 dated 08.12.2021 under Sections 354/354-D/506/376 IPC at Police Station Begowal, District Kapurthala, respondent No.4, who has been named as an accused in the aforementioned FIR, along with other private respondents are extending threats to the petitioner and pressurizing her to effect a compromise with them. He submits that even though Representation dated 02.02.2022 (Annexure P2) was given to SSP, Kapurthala, however, the authorities concerned had been sitting over the matter and had failed to initiate any action against the private respondents. Keeping in view the limited prayer addressed by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala, to look into the representation dated 02.02.2022 (Annexure P2) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if any requried, under the provisions of law, preferably within two weeks.
