***** RAJAN GUPTA , J. (Oral) This is a petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus to hold a fair and impartial enquiry into the incidents of the alleged violence at the time of elections of Gram Panchayat in Village Jandoli.

A detailed affidavit has been filed by the State. Referring to the same, Mr. Doabia submits that regarding the alleged occurrence during the aforesaid elections, necessary action was taken by the police. According to him, the petitioner having contested and lost is now seeking an enquiry. He was entitled to file an election petition as per Section 76 of Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994 but he has chosen not to do so. We find the substance in the plea of the State counsel and find no ground to order an enquiry. The petition is hereby dismissed.
