The petitioner prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus seeking directions to the respondents to grant the pensionary/retiral benefits along with interest. 2.

The petitioner also claims that he is entitled to be pensionary benefits as per the Old General Provident Fund Scheme as he was recruited prior to 01.01.2004. He relies upon the judgment passed in Harbans Lal v. State of Punjab and Others (Civil Writ Petition No. 2371 of 2010, decided on31.08.2010).

On the request of the Court, Mr. Nikhil Chopra, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that he has instructions to make a statement to the effect that the DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2022.03.14 16:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document competent authority i.e. Director General of Police, Punjab, shall consider

Civil Writ Petition No. 4331 of 2022 the matter and pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from today.
