The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to renew its registration.

The petitioner is a society which was registered on 30.05.2005 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Its registration was renewed from time to time. A group of individuals on 02.12.2024 submitted a list of changed Governing Body. Majority of members raised objections. A new governing body was constituted on 25.07.2025. A list of newly elected members of Governing Body was submitted to respondent No.1 on 04.08.2025. The petitioner-society served legal notice upon respondent No.1 for renewal of its registration. The petitioner served notice upon respondent seeking renewal of registration. The respondent has withheld petitioner's registration on the ground of pendency of civil suit filed by a private individual. There is no stay in civil suit.

On being asked, learned counsel for the petitioner expressed his inability to show any provision in Punjab Cooperative Societies Act, 1961 which requires renewal of registration certificate. 4.
It appears that society is seeking approval of list of members of governing body.

Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the petition with liberty to file afresh as well as to submit a representation to respondents.
