CM-5943-2023 This is an application for placing on record documents marked as Annexures P-13 and P-14 with a prayer seeking exemption from filing certified/true copy thereof.

For the reasons mentioned in the application, application is allowed. Documents Annexure P-13 and P-14 are taken on record subject to all just exceptions.

CWP No. 3473 of 2023 By way of present writ petition, petitioner prays for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus seeking directions to the respondents to consider representation dated 19.09.2022 submitted by the petitioners to consider their respective claim for promotion to the post of Dy. Superintendent of Police from ARCHANA ARORA 2023.04.13 09:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

CWP No. 3473 of 2023 (O&M) the date the juniors to them have been promoted. At the outset, Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG., Punjab who appears on advance notice submits that the representation dated 19.9.2022 (Annexure P-9) is under active consideration of the authorities and the same shall be decided within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. The aforesaid proposal is acceptable to the learned Senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners.

In view of the above, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.1 to decide the representation dated 19.09.2022 submitted by the petitioners and appended along with the writ petition as Annexure P-9 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.

Needless to say that in case, the authorities find that the claim of the petitioners merit acceptance, the necessary relief be granted within a further period of four weeks thereafter. However, if the authorities find that the claim raised by the petitioners sans merit the same shall be decided by passing a speaking order after granting them opportunity of hearing within the period stipulated hereinabove.
