**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No. 0054 dated 31.7.2019 under Sections 302 and 201 IPC registered at Police Station Mallanwala, District Ferozepur.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is the stepson of missing lady Gurmeet Kaur and the present FIR has been got registered by his uncle Nachhatar Singh. She further submits that petitioner was the person who has given information to the police on 24.5.2019 regarding missing of his mother. Learned counsel also submits that the petitioner was residing with his stepmother and stepsister in the same house and it is only on the disclosure statement of the petitioner before Nachhatar Singh, the petitioner has been involved in the present case. She further states that the petitioner has been in custody since 4.8.2019. CRM-M No. 7324 of 2020 -2asking for the share in the property and on the day prior to the occurrence, Gurmeet Kaur had received Rs. One lac as rent from the land and since then she was missing and a specific disclosure statement has been given by the petitioner to Nachhatar Singh regarding his involvement in the present case. Learned State counsel also submits that in the present case charges have been framed and the prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. The petitioner has been in custody since 04.8.2019. In the present case, charges have been framed but the prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. The trial will take time to conclude. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
