The instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, claiming the following reliefs:- (i) issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, particularly in the nature of Certiorari, for quashing the impugned letter dated 20.01.2026 (Annexure P-28), issued by respondent No.8, whereby the claim of the petitioner for issuance of sports gradation certificate has been rejected by wrongly applying the Sports Policy dated 12.01.2015 instead of the applicable Sports Policy dated 25.05.2018 and amended Sports Policy dated 15.11.2018 (Annexures P-6 and P-7), respectively;

(ii) issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No.3 and 8 to issue the sports gradation certificate to the petitioner in terms of the applicable Sports Policy dated 25.05.2018 and amended Sports Policy dated 15.11.2018, keeping in view the sports MOHD YAKUB 2026.05.20 16:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.

CWP-3955-2026 (O&M) -2achievement certificate dated 27.05.2023 (Annexure P-5) and the judgments/orders dated 20.09.2022, 20.11.2023 and 14.06.2024 (Annexures P-29 to P-31), within a timebound period; (iii) further direct the respondents to correct the category of the petitioner from BCA-ESM to BCA-ESP and to consider his case accordingly, in accordance with law; (iv) issue a writ in the nature of Prohibition restraining the respondents from terminating the services of the petitioner on the ground that he had sought appointment under the BCA-ESM category, despite the fact that the petitioner neither belongs to the Ex-serviceman category nor had ever claimed reservation under the said category. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file a fresh petition with better particulars.
